100% of the electricity at the Circuit will continue to have the guarantee of origin from renewable or high-efficiency co-generation sources

The tender for the provision of electric energy has been awarded to Endesa, favouring the revitalisation of the efficiency and the commitment to electric mobility.

100% of the electricity used at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya will continue to have a guarantee of origin (GoO) from renewable or high-efficiency co-generation sources, as it has gradually been introduced since 2015. This fact is guaranteed by Endesa, the company that was awarded with the tender for the provision of electric power to the Circuit for the coming months.

The new contractual relationship with Endesa does also favour the revitalisation of two lines of action: efficiency, with the aim of optimising consumption, invoicing and facilities; and the commitment to electric mobility.

The Circuit, committed to the environment

Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya is committed to a continuous improvement of its environmental behaviour and keeps on making steps forward in order to reduce its CO2 footprint to become the first racetrack worldwide to have a Zero Footprint. The Catalan racetrack has shown a long-term commitment to sustainable environmental operations within the framework of its management system known as CirCuitCat 3C “Conscience, Commitment and Coherence” which is certified according to ISO 14001 since 2008, a ground breaking fact in the sector.

The environmental actions performed by the Circuit have been repeatedly recognised and awarded by the International Motorcycling Federation (FIM Environment Award), the International Automobile Federation (FIA Accreditation) and the Royal Spanish Motorsport Federation (Environmental Sustainability Award).
