33 Teams Confirmed for the 24H Barcelona – Trofeo Fermí Vélez

On 3, 4 and 5 September, Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya will be the venue of the 22nd edition of the 24H Barcelona - Trofeo Fermí Vélez. In collaboration with the promoter Creventic as part of the calendar of the 24H Series, an international competition that brings together the best touring and GT cars, the endurance race will return to the Catalan track with the participation of 33 mostly European and North American teams.

Thus, the entered teams that will be competing at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya bring together 14 different nationalities: Germany (9), Spain (3), France (3), Switzerland (3), United States of America (3), Netherlands (2), Belgium (2), Austria (2), Italy (1), Czech Republic (1), Luxembourg (1), Romania (1), England (1) and Canada (1).

The local teams will be represented by PCR Sport with a Ferrari 458 Italia GT3 driven by Josep Mayola, Marc Carol and Francesc Gutiérrez. Once again this year, Gutiérrez did not want to miss his participation in the 24 Hours and continues to break records, as he is the only driver who has taken part in all the editions of the endurance event at the Circuit, with several victories and podiums behind him. Rail Equip by Totcar Sport will be racing with the drivers Jorge Belloc Díaz, Jorge Belloc Ruiz and Álvaro Rodríguez with a Cupra TCR DSG, the same vehicle that Baporo Motorsport will put on the track, which in the last edition held in 2019 achieved a second position in its category, and which will put at the wheel of the car Manel Lao Gorina, Manel Lao Comago, Lorenzo Fluxá Domene and Lorenzo Fluxá Cross, the latter currently competing in the Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine.

In terms of international participation, Herberth Motorsport, winners of the 2016 and 2018 editions, will be fielding two Porsche 911 GT3 R (991 II) cars. On the one hand with Daniel Allemann, Ralf Bohn, Alfred Renauer and Robert Renauer, and on the other hand with Jürgen Häring, Bobby Gonzales, Wolfgang Triller and Marco Seefried. Luxembourg-based Duwo Racing will field Russians Andrey Mukovoz, Stanislav Sidoruk and Sergey Peregudov in a Porsche 911 GT3 Cup (991 Gen II), the Americans of CP Racing will compete in a Mercedes-AMG GT3 with Charles Putman, Charles Espenlaub, Joe Foster and Shane Lewis, and the Englishmen of CWS Engineering will team up with Colin White, Ian Stinton and Jean-François Brunot in a Ginetta G55.

There will also be teams with outstanding performances in their respective categories in the last edition of the race at the Circuit, such as Speed Lover (Porsche 911 GT3 Cup), RTR Projects (KTM X-BOW GTX) or True Racing (two units of the KTM X-BOW GTX). The latter team includes MotoGP™ rider Miguel Oliveira, who will leave the two wheels of the World Championship for a weekend to experience the magic of endurance at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, a track he knows perfectly.

Undoubtedly, the 24 Hours of Barcelona - Trofeo Fermí Vélez will bring an intense sporting programme with a great variety of racing units on the track, which will be completed during the weekend with the Alpine Elf Europa Cup races and the NKHTGT championship of historic touring and GT cars.
